GET OUT OF HERE, RANGER: Metro 2033 'Ranger Pack' DLC In The Works

So you played Metro 2033, became a master of the Metro tunnels, and didn't think it was hard enough, huh? Then 4A and THQ have just the thing you need.

Just announced , the Ranger Pack is going to be making the already hardcore action-survival shooter much, much hardcore-er. The pack plans to add an entirely new mode of play, as well as several new weapons, and 250 gamerscore (On Xbawks) for completing it.

The new mode removes the games scant HUD completely, makes all weapons both personal and hostile do more damage, reduces the amount of ammo/healthpacks in the game, and just makes the game harder in general. Honestly, this sounds like a day one download to me, I love hard games.

Check out the full announcement on Facebook.

Valve: Steam Comes To Mac, All Four Apple Gamers Rejoice

Remember the last time that Valve actually released something on time? Yeah, me neither. But it looks like they finally got their act together, since the Steam Client launched for Macs today. Sure, they might not be releasing any new content, but it's something, right? And now that they've gotten this out of the way, they can finally start working on Episode 3... Right?

For more information, head over to the new Mac section of Steam.

Valve: Portal Is Now Free For PC And Mac Until May 24th

You know everyone loves? Freeware. And do you know what else everyone loves? Portal. This is why it's perfect that Portal is going on sale for 100% off on Steam starting today, May 12th, and ending on May 24th. And the best part is, now that Steam has launched for Mac, you can play it on either OS.

But seriously, this was one of my favorite titles of 2007, and if you're one of the 5 people who don't own The Orange Box, I can't recommend it enough.

Also, did I mention that it's free?

Activision: Modern Warfare 2 sells 290,000 Copies On PC, Is Pirated 4 Million Times

According to Activision, as well as a recent article by Wired Online, Activision's Cash Cow, Modern Warfare 2 sold 290,000 legitimate copies on PC and was pirated 4.1 million times. First of all, I would just like to officially state that while GAME NEBULA DOES NOT ENDORSE ANY FORM OF MEDIA PIRACY, it's nice to see that Activision's milking of the Call of Duty franchise backfired on them.

I mean 4.1 million is a big number. Imagine a room full of every person who has visited this blog so far (about 1,000). Now imagine multiplying that room by 4,000. Now imagine if Call of Duty was good again. Wait, I got a little bit off topic there, but you get the picture.

Although I highly doubt that Activision will be able to turn the series around after Modern Warfare 2, it would be nice for them to learn from their mistakes, and give future Call of Duty developers more freedom in their projects (and dedicated servers. Sweet, sweet dedicated servers).

Anyway, suck it Activision.

Contender to the Throne: Google Tablet Is Coming, Will Probably Be Rad

This should be interesting. Earlier today, Verizon Chief Executive Lowell McAdam confirmed the Google Tablet after stating that the phone service carrier was "working with Google on a tablet computer". That's as close to an official announcement of an iPad killer as it gets, and as long as the thing has integrated Adobe Flash and Stereo speakers, you can sign me up for 15 units.

I wish Google good luck in their further endeavors, and I congratulate them for beating Apple at their own game earlier this week.

STOOPID: PC Exclusive Mega Man Online Confirmed by Capcom (No, Seriously)

Yeah...So earlier today, as reported by Gamespot, Capcom revealed that they're currently working on a PC exclusive Mega Man MMO. The game is currently under production by Korean Studio, Neowiz Games, best known for their development of "EA Sports FIFA Online".

Whatever this MMO is, I pray that it doesn't turn out as badly as we all expect it to. It might be bad, but I hope to god that it's not this bad.

Bro of the Month Club: Urdnot Wrex

So by now, most of us have played the first two acts of the Mass Effect Trilogy. By that standard, I think that a solid 99% of us recruited Wrex into our intergalactic crime fighting team, and for good reason. It's pretty damned hard to not like Wrex, and that's a fact.

If you killed Wrex in Mass Effect 1, you're a sadistic asshole, and I'm just going to get that out of the way first. Seriously, this guy is one of the smoothest, baddest, meanest, and ugliest characters ever imagined. He always gave the wisest, manliest advice, and when things got tough he kept a level head (unless his head was busy ramming mercenaries into walls). If you shot him, or let that god-wad bitch, Ashley shoot him, hang your head in shame.

The one time that Wrex lost his cool was when he realized that the protagonist was about to seal the fate of his entire species to extinction. AND EVEN THEN IT ONLY TAKES A FEW SENTENCES TO LOGICALLY CONVINCE HIM THAT IT'S FOR THE GREATER GOOD. See? Not just brawn, but brains too.

And finally, when you meet him again after two years, you find out that he went from being some old mercenary to THE FUCKING KING OF THE KROGAN. I'll tell you what. You name one person who has gone from zero to king of his god damned species in two years, and I'll revoke Wrex's bro status.

And there you have it: Urdnot Wrex, the official Game Nebula "Bro of the Month" for May
